Why is it useful?
It would give businesses and individuals the ability to create their own templates within Sage rather than using the limited set templates and having to recreate invoices using external design templates, essentially doing the same job twice.
The same would apply for final accounts reporting and corporation tax, personal tax
Who would benefit from it?
Sage users - more tailored and well rounded SAP package. For the price users are paying you would expect features of this nature to come included. It would save users the extra time and money plus create a more automated experience within Sage.
Sage PLC - great added feature that customers will appreciate. Could include premium templates by designers as an add on..
How should it work?
Option 1. Sage providers a template which can be downloaded, customised and uploaded into Templates e.g MS excel file with fixed field types that can be dragged, dropped and resized. Adobe template integration etc.
Option 2. Click and builds section built into the software or 3rd party marketplace for fully managed template design
