On the desktop version of sage the vat codes are shown on the reports such as bank payments, receipts etc. This makes it very useful to check that the correct vat code has been applied. It is also useful for reconciling the turnover figure on the year end accounts with the sales figure on the vat returns if there have been transactions with no vat.
