Need to be able to add an element to an existing client invoice without having to un-allocate and reallocate existing payments Merged

We are a travel agency, and client invoices change frequently.... elements are constantly being added to existing bookings , like car hire, insurance, hotels etc, and at the moment we have to un-allocate payments made, add an element to the invoice and then re-allocate payments back on .... very laborious ...
