I use cash basis accounting and I have to manually work through reports to make sure I'm only accounting that has been actually received not just issued. When I produce my annual accounts, I can't use a trial balance as it show invoices issued and not invoices received (which can be differing amounts) so I have to manually check. This seems odd and is frustrating as I want it calculated by the system not me. I do have cash basis VAT on Sage so why not cash basis accounting. Quick books now offer it but I like SAGE and want to stay with you.
