In bank reconciliations, the date is on the extreme left and the reconciling tick-box on the extreme right. Where there is a wide column, for instance because of a long reference, not all columns appear at once, so the bar at the bottom of the screen has to be moved left to see the date and then right to tick the box. Meanwhile the line of data moves up and can't be seen. This is very awkward when reconciling. Re-sizing a column could also be useful in other displays.
