Current Empty states are outdated and buggy in many cases, with lack of consistency in interaction and tone of voice. They are the original ones created for the first version of the app (Expenses and Invoices) which is 3 years old now and had a different product strategy.
The illustrations don't follow the Design System style, which could be easily offset by updating them with the one available in DS portal.
On top of that, the empty states are not guiding the users as it should (according with one of our design principles). Empty States should be used to guide the user to an action and communicate our brand.

This makes sense however this type of work will be halted until we have done an evaluation of the current apps and how fit for purpose they are for where we are going. This should be decided in the coming months and will allow us to plan this type of work in conjunction with our strategy going forward.
